The first film which I reviewed here, was the introduction of this Julian Sands rooted character who possesses warlock abilities that might even come across as Harry Potter-esque these days. The Warlock is the titular main antagonist of the supernatural horror film series Warlock and was a time-travelling practitioner of the Dark Arts. He was portrayed by Julian Sands in the first two Warlock film.

Warlock: The Armageddon is a sequel in the loosest terms; in fact there are so many timeline/plot inconsistencies between this film and the original Warlock that it's much easier to look at each movie as standalones. After recently watching both films I certainly believe this to be. The Warlock's single goal is to free his father from the fiery chains that imprison him and unleash Satan's wrath upon the world.

The only ones who can prevent complete world destruction are two warriors (Chris Young and Paula Marshall)- who alone possess the supernatural powers to challenge the Warlock and stop the inevitable Armageddon. Should've been Armageddon for the franchise, but unfortunately they made a third one too. A group of five stones has the power to either free the evil, or banish it for another six hundred. I love how Warlock: The Armageddon feels like two movies stitched together, in one part we have a light family fantasy film with necromancer dads [including Bruce Glover] killing their kids just so they can magically heal them and then in the next scene we have a woman birthing a giant pulsing sack of flesh during a lunar eclipse from which Julian Sands emerges after the disembodied blob eats.
